Description

The Mines & Minerals Department, Government of Punjab, is inviting applications from highly motivated and skilled individuals for various contract-based positions under a significant project focused on the economic prospective of coal, iron ore, limestone, and other industrial minerals in the Koh-e-Suleman, DG Khan Division. This initiative presents an excellent opportunity for experienced and literate candidates to contribute to vital government projects in Lahore and Chakwal, with a contract duration of one year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive geological surveys and field investigations for mineral exploration.
  • Performing GIS mapping and spatial data analysis to support mineral resource assessment.
  • Operating drones for aerial surveying and data acquisition in geological contexts.
  • Executing precise land surveying tasks, including boundary demarcation and topographical mapping.
  • Providing essential IT support for field operations and office systems.
  • Operating vehicles safely and efficiently for transportation of personnel and equipment.
  • Assisting field teams with various on-site tasks and logistical support.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Engineering principles, particularly relevant to geological or mining contexts.
  • Strong Management and organizational abilities.
  • Expertise in geological surveying and mineral exploration techniques.
  • Competency in GIS software and mapping tools.
  • Experience in drone operation for data collection.
  • Basic IT support and troubleshooting skills.
  • Safe driving practices (for Driver position).
  • Ability to work effectively in a field environment and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess educational qualifications ranging from Middle school certificate to a Bachelor's degree, depending on the specific role. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required for most positions. Candidates must be between 25 and 35 years of age. Positions available include Field Geologist (PPS-8), GIS Mapping Officer (PPS-8), Drone Operator (PPS-6), Surveyor (PPS-6), IT Support Assistant (PPS-5), Driver (PPS-3), and Field Man (PPS-2).
